Cast Framework Partial

When teeth are missing, it is important to replace them one way or another as soon as possible. Without replacing them, the remaining teeth can shift or migrate into those voids. This may change the appearance of your teeth by making them look crooked. When this happens, it can be more difficult to keep them clean and you may run the risk of experiencing tooth decay or periodontal disease ultimately leading to more tooth loss.

Crooked teeth may also change the appearance of your smile! These partials are the best option for long term. They are thinner, stronger, more hygenic, and more supportive than acrylic partial dentures. The frameworks are made out of biocompatible metals. The framework fits around your existing dentition and uses hooks (clasps) to keep it in place. These are made for function as well as aesthetics. It is important to note however, that the success of cast framework partial dentures are highly dependant on the current health of your exisiting dentition. It is highly recommended to have a check up with your dentist prior to denture treatment to ensure a good prognosis. An individual whose existing teeth are in very poor condition (loose, broken, decayed teeth, etc) may not be a suitable candidate for this option.

Acrylic Partial Dentures

These dentures are more used to aesthetic purposes than function. We do not consider these dentures ideal for long term use, but consider them temporary or transitional. These dentures are made out of high impact acrylic with hooks (clasps) embedded in them that engage onto existing teeth to keep the appliance in place.

Flexible Acrylic Partial Dentures

Unlike conventional acrylic partials, these partials are not rigid, but quite flexible. They are made from a thermoplastic nylon resin that is quite thin, very flexible, and durable. This partial does not have any metal clasps thus making it more esthetically superior to conventional acrylic partials and cast-frame partials.
